The south-eastern part of Alpago is geographically known as Cansiglio, a ‘karst rock formation’ plateau that rises to an average altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. Cansiglio is almost entirely covered by woods and forests, with the exception of the Cansiglio plain (Pian Cansiglio in Italian), a lush area of unspoiled nature.
Thanks to the relatively flat conformation of the plateau, golf has historically been one of the most popular summer sports in the area. The Cansiglio golf club was in fact founded towards the end of the 1950s, more precisely in 1958, on a design by John Harris in 1957 and later remodeled by Marco Croze in 1964.

Learning Golf and Golf courses in Cansiglio:
Golf courses can be booked at the golf club. The courses usually last two months and are held in groups of 4 to 10 people. The course cost is 99 euros per person, including balls, equipment, professional coach and one month of free access to the club at the end of the course.
